We were saddened when we heard the news today. My girls knew Rachel very little but were so upset when they heard the news. Your sweet Rachel has touched all of us in so many ways. I have read most of the entries, viewed the pictures and one word comes to mind when I think of Rachel "amazing". She was a little girl who at the age of 10 knew how to live, love and laugh. Rachel is an inspiration to all of us. Her spirit will always be with us reminding us of the 3 L's-Live, Love and Laugh! Something she was very good at. With love, The Van Slyke Family

It is with an extremely shattered heart that we sit here tonight. God has taken one of the most loved little girls home to him. Rachel will forvever be in our hearts and in our prayers. She will look down from above and be with us each and every day. We truly are blessed to have known her and to have seen her Spirit shine here on Earth. Dave and Leslie, you must be so proud of her. Thank you for sharing her with the rest of us. May God comfort you all.....

Rachel, I am Uncle Steves sister, Becky and I want you to know that it is not the quantity but the quality of life that makes a difference. You, sweet child, have made such a difference in so many lives. Anyone who has faith, knows God chooses only his favorites first. How Lucky you are. My family prays every night for you but you don't need it. He has chosen you and your family for this mission and he will take care of all of you !!!

Dear Sweet Rachel: Although you may not remember me, I am one of your auntie andrea's friends. I used to live in Leominster and work for the newspaper there, but now I live far away in San Diego. I just looked outside and saw a small beautiful butterfly go by. I wonder if you'd seen that very same butterfly sometime too. Have you felt God's warm summer breeze and closed your eyes and felt heaven today? Today, I will witness, smell, touch and taste everything and I will dedicate the beauty of it all to you. For your courage inspire the birds to sing, the winds to cool the land, the rain to bring life and the sun to warm us every day. I may be far away, but I am thinking of you and praying for you and your family Rachel! May you all always be reminded of and comforted by God's unending love!

Dear Rachel- I am attempting for the third time to write to you. I am by far worse than your Grandmother in the computer department. Hopefully, this one will show up. I am a friend of your Auntie Steph's. You may remember my girls Natalie and Abigail. I hear that a few years ago. You had fun with them at a birthday party your Auntie Steph had for Maddy. I guess you guys attacked Cole and his Clan..I do remember hearing a lot of laughter. I thought you guys may have attempted to tie them up-Was that your idea? I hear you are one lively little girl with a great spirit! The girls said that at your big event-you made an announcement-"move out of the way everyone-make way for the star of the show!!!!" They thought you were pretty funny!!! We are thinking of you and your family always and will write again!

Reading your website I get the feeling that you are much tougher than most people could be and your smile is totally infectious. I am praying for a miracle in your life. I also see that you got to meet Miley Cyrus ... how cool is that, huh? We had the chance to meet her once too after her concert in Rhode Island and we thought she was so nice. Stay well and know that prayers are going up to God Himself on your behalf! God Bless You.

Hi Rachel. Your Aunt Tammy told my friend Paula that I could send you a message through this awsome web-site that you have. After looking at your web-site, I think it is much better then Hanna Montana's! You definitely have more letters then Hanna, that's for sure :). I only got to meet you a couple of times and each time was great. I will never forget the excitement that showed in you face and your expressions coming back from seeing Hanna. Paula still has the card that you made for us in her office. You are quite a little angel and I feel privileged to have met you and your family. I always think about you and how hard of a fighter you are. God loves you and he takes care of all his little angels. I will continue to pray for you and your family. Michael

Rachel, many people go through their lives without impacting others around them. You and your family have touched more people than you will ever know. It is a miracle when one special person can remind others of how to care, to love, to cherish those around them to pray, and from your pictures...to smile. You and your family will stay in my thoughts and prayers.

I would like to wish you comfort, peace, strength, health and the miracle of life. During CCD classes, we learned that God Our Father, our Creator is the giver of life, may he give you life. We learned that Jesus is our savior, the healer, and the lifter of pain. may he heal you and take away your pain. We learned that the Holy Spirit, is our comforter, and may he give you strength and peace. May these prayers comfort and sustain you and your family through this difficult time. We pray all these things in Jesus' name. God hold you and your family in his arms. Amen. " Mrs. Parent. 4th grade CCD. teacher.

Hi Rachel, We are the couple in the house on Hillandale with the see-saws. Mrs. C and I have started praying in earnest for you. Jesus is the Great Physician and our prayer is that He will heal you. We don't really know you but we love you in God's love. May you find some comfort in the arms of God's love. Let me share with you a wonderful Bible verse if I may. The apostle John wrote, "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation (substitute or payment) for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another." Praying for you and your family. God Bless. Mark & Holly Christensen

Hey there sweet Rachel girl!! I was going through some of the kids' dress up clothes just the other day, and came upon the stylin' DIVA hat with the sequins that I wore for hat day... you and I were sportin' a similar look that day... of course I will have to admit that you looked WAAAAY COOLER in your hat then I did trying to squeeze my big head in my 8yo's hat. Hee-Hee! I missed seeing your smiling face at the end of the year. Believe it or not, I looked forward to that 1 o'clock time frame so that I could see your smiling face and hear you tell me those silly stories. Like the one about Mom and Dad playing Wii. (I knew you had supercool parents...hee!) I especially remember when you came in after the benefit and you were telling me how surprised mom was about you walking out onto center ice all by yourself, and you said something like, "Well!!! I wanted my one minute of fame/stardom". You are just so--- darn cute!!! And... I want you to know that YOU are a star! A bright-shining, twinkling, beautifully brilliant star!!!! Your family and friends are the constellation of stars all around you, and we pray for you, and think of you and your family everyday. Miss you, think of you always, love you sweet Rachel Girl!!! Tell Mom, Dad, your brother and sisters that we all say a Big SUPER-DUPER Hello to them too!!! L8R G8R (I'm getting quite text savvy Miss Rachel, it kind of freaks my 13yo, Taylor-girl out...hee-hee) Love, Hugs & Kisses!! Hi Rachel! I know you don't know me too well, but my family thinks of you often. I will always remember when you were only like 4 years old (give or take), and my daughter, Emma, and I came over for a visit. We went down into your basement where all the games were and all your art projects. Your art "skills" blew me away. But what really impressed me was how you read Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss, from start to finish! You really impressed me. Your mom told me you could do that since you were 3 years old! I knew how special you were right then and there. And you haven't stopped being that unique and special girl, and you never will. My family sends their love to you and to your family.

Hi Rachel, We just would like you to know that you are one of the strongest, bravest and cutest kids we have ever been blessed to meet. Your smile just lights us up. I want you to know that Alyssa misses you like crazy and she always talks abut the time she went with you and Jenny A to the mall to have your nails done on girls day out. She will treasure that day forever. Thank you for being a blessing to all of us, keep strong in your journey brave girl. We will continue to pray for you every day.

Hi Rachel, it's Sandy, Julia Herndon's mom. I just wanted to say hi and tell you that you are in my thoughts and prayers every day. I also wanted to tell you that back in February, Julia came home from school and told me all about you & told me how much she really likes you. She then told me she wanted to donate her hair to Locks of Love. Thank you for being such a good friend to Julia and for being such an inspiration to so many people. You are VERY special. Love, Sandy
